since every character I feel competent to write for TC has already been taken up for nomination I think I'll nominate the Alexander trilogy twice:
Alexander Trilogy: Sisygambis, Roxane, Stateira, Darius
Alexander Trilogy: Philip, Ptolemy, Olympias, Eurydike
This leaves me one free nomination, but I'm, not particularly using it for anything, so if the Big Three for the Alexandriad don't get nominated by anyone else, I can also do
Alexander Trilogy: Alexander, Hephaistion, Bagoas, Pausanias

I'm not sure you're actually allowed to do that. You'd better check with the Yulemods whether it is permitted for someone to nominate the same fandom more than once.

This may already have occurred to you, but just in case.

If you contact two of the others, you might be able to arrange a swap. For example, naraht might be willing to swap TC (or another) for Alexander: you'd nominate her choice of TC characters (R, L, Andrew, Alec), and she'd nominate four of the ones you want. My sister is another possibility: she's planning to nominate LotW and MoA.

I'm looking at The Praise Singer at the moment and trying to figure out what I, exactly, want to do with it—but left to my own device I'll probably only nominate Simonides. So there are potentially three slots open, does anyone else have any preferences about who else I should aim to nominate?

Are there any other MR books you have in mind? I see that, at one point, you were thinking of Return to Night; but, of course, naraht is offering that. (You might want to coordinate with her if there are other characters you want, and thus free up a nomination for yourself.)

I'm thinking of requesting Return to Night, but I'm pretty much only thinking of Hilary-centric requests, I shouldn't need any further characters than those naraht is planning to nominate.

I'm in exactly the same situation myself.

I've decided against nominating Stalky again this year, so I have space for 3 MR nominations is need be. I can nominate the Alexandriad if that would help the spread of characters. Or any other people would like.

However, it looks as though she would like any of Sisygambis, Roxane, Stateira, Darius, Philip, Olympias, Eurydike, and Pausanias. You might check with her which ones head her want list.

You could add in Aiskhylos or Anakreon, if you want friends of Simonides; or Airistogeiton and Harmodios as two other characters fic has been written for in the past. Hipparchos is logical as a major 'player' in terms of plot. The book is very short on female characters but there is Lyra, the heteira whom Simonides loves.
