Also borrowed from [personal profile] toujours_nigel (here). This time, the idea is to put up the last line of each of the last ten stories I have posted.

So here goes:

  • Then again, maybe that’s a different shade of gold.

"A Different Shade of Gold", The Outsiders - S.E. Hinton, 6636 words, written as a pinch hit for [profile] luciferinasundaysuit in the Wayback Exchange.

  • It was the next year that Lewis got out of prison.

"A Little Cold", The Flash & Legends of Tomorrow, 1634 words, written for [personal profile] rivulet027 in the Worldbuilding Exchange.

As I haven't yet finished the "Depths of Cold" series, I've gone just with the last sentence of the first part, i.e. the same one for which I gave the first sentence.

  • “Not a problem,” she said. “I’ll have time to bake again before we leave.”

"Flight at Christmas", Mrs. Pollifax series - Dorothy Gilman, 1145 words, written for [personal profile] philomytha in the Yuletide Exchange.

  • Master Ambrose silently raised his glass in toast.

"The Dapple Flows into the Dawl", Lud-in-the-Mist - Hope Mirrlees, 1156 words, written for [personal profile] moon_custafer in the Yuletide Exchange.

  • If it were true, it would be damned unfair if Ralph got crimed for gossip about Odell.

"Quandary", The Charioteer - Mary Renault, 1087 words, written for [profile] deliarium in the Yuletide Exchange.

  • You will joust upon vellum.

"Joust on Vellum", Medieval manuscript illustrations, 1123 words, written for [personal profile] oneiriad in the Yuletide Exchange.

  • “As long as no one suspects the truth,” said Laurie, “or it will be our goose.”

"Deckle-Edged", 1699 words, The Charioteer - Mary Renault, written for [personal profile] sunsetmog in Yuletide.

  • “[...] I think Iris owes you a cup of coffee.”

"Rogue Kiss", The Flash (TV series), 4919 words, written as a pinch hit for [personal profile] sandrine_shaw in Multifandom Tropefest.

  • I’ll believe it when I eat it.

"Dear Dad", M*A*S*H (TV series), 1759 words, written for [personal profile] blueteak in Trick or Treat.

  • “[...] I think we’re going to need it.”

"DePiction", Swallows and Amazons series - Arthur Ransome, 3552 words, written for [profile] elennare in the Exchange at Fic Corner.
Well, last year I concluded that most of my first lines are short and snappy. It looks as though that tends to be true for the final ones, too. Topped and tailed!
