Rules: Go to your AO3 works page, expand all the filters, and answer the following questions!
What’re your first and second most common work ratings?
General audiences - 145 works
Teen and up - 35 works
This is out of 180 works, and the rest are mostly Unrated. I've only got two stories I decided had to be considered Mature.
What's your most common archive warning?
No archive warnings apply (151)
The next highest is "Choose not to warn" at 25. I usually use that for "mature themes" (a vague term!) or references to off-scene canon deaths. On the other hand there is that one story that got "Explicit violence", "Major Character Death", and "Rape/Non-Con".
Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?
Not in the usual sense. I like to delve into character.
How many fics have you written in each pairing category?
Gen (138)
M/M (18)
M/F (17)
Multi (1)
M/M and F/M (1)
Other (1) - these were a set of icons
No category (3)
Quite a few genfic have pairings listed in the tags. There is such a thing as genslash, after all. Still, it does look as though I'm quite accurate in describing myself as "mostly a gen writer"!
What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers?
Forever Knight (62)
Mary Renault - Works (42)
The Charioteer - Mary Renault (37)
Definitely the top three. On the other hand, the ostensibly "general" Renault one is exclusively used for ITOWverse stories; so I don't know if that counts. The largest of the small fry are:
Swallows and Amazons - Arthur Ransome (4)
Jean Robertson series - Janet Sandison (3)
The Flash (TV 2014) (3)
And, as far as that goes, one of the Swallows & Amazons stories is a crossover with The Charioteer! Also, there will be more Flash fic. Probably in the near future. Very near future.
Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?
Yes and no? Taking them one by one:
I don't migrate easily. When the Renault and FK fandoms declined, I knew I was ripe to fall for another fandom; but it actually took a couple of years before one clobbered me into starstruck wonder. So to speak. However, I dabble in a wide range of one-off treats in gift exchanges.
What are your top 4 relationship tags?
Ralph Lanyon/Laurie Odell (8)
Ralph Lanyon/Hazell (5)
Janette DuCharme/Nick Knight (5)
Natalie Lambert/Nick Knight (5)
As I went through doing this, one thing became clear: I hardly ever tag background pairings for supporting characters in genfic. Otherwise Alec/Sandy and Straike/Lucy would be listed for a lot of the ITOW stories.
Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?
If I'm puzzled, it's only that Nick/Janette is so high; but there was one year when, every time I got matched on FK, my recip—three different recips!—wanted a story about her. If it weren't for that, then Nick/LaCroix and Laurie/Andrew would be tied for fourth place (with 3 each).
I think these figures definitely bear out my preference for writing gen. There'd be a lot more & relationships here if I tagged for them; but I rarely bother.
What are your top 2 most used additional tags, and your bottom 2?
Without a doubt, "ITOWverse" (42) and "Metafiction" (41) are at the top, usually paired. Obviously, they appear on all the ITOWverse stories.
Leaving aside those, the top ones are:
Backstory (23)
Drabble (13)
Historical (13)
On the other hand, there are some near-synonyms. If I combine Futurefic, Post-Canon, Postscript, and Epilogue, they come to 16. And I think it's fair to say that the 7 tagged World War II are also Historical.
There's no point in listing the ones used least. There are a lot that I only use once.
What would happen if you combined all 4 of these into a fic?
Trying to fit backstory and futurefic into an historical drabble? Let it be a challenge to you, that's my answer.
How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don’t plan on finishing?
No WIPs. Not on AO3, anyway. It is true that I never finished my second virtual season of Forever Knight; but the finished episodes aren't uploaded anywhere.

Yes and no? Taking them one by one:
- I've never been active in the Jean Robertson fandom, which is miniscule. I wrote those stories in various gift exchanges for my sister, who adores the books.
- The Swallows & Amazons stories were all written for gift exchanges. It's one of those fandoms I stick in to make up the requisite number of offers; and sometimes I match on it.
- I doubt if I'll write more ITOW fic: it was very much associated with the Maryrenaultfics community.
I don't migrate easily. When the Renault and FK fandoms declined, I knew I was ripe to fall for another fandom; but it actually took a couple of years before one clobbered me into starstruck wonder. So to speak. However, I dabble in a wide range of one-off treats in gift exchanges.
