FK faction icons XII

Three more icons—once again, for a fairly mixed group of factions. There's a small (but ardent) character affiliation, a couple faction, and one that's...mmm...a bit eccentric, shall we say?

RatPack:

Screed seems an unlikely hero to me, but there's no denying that he's one of the more intriguing characters introduced in Season Three. He is, of course, associated in everyone's minds with the rats whose blood he prefers; and the original faction symbol was a rat with a band-aid.

Okay, I decided to drop the band-aid. I did, however, parallel Screed with a suitably scruffy rat. No other symbol was added to this icon, since I felt that the pair of them were quite striking just on their own.

the Faithfuls:

The Faithfuls are one of the factions inspired by the episode "Be My Valentine", being the couple faction for LaCroix and Nick's sister, Fleur.

It is clear from both the flashback and the scenes in the broadcast booth at CERK that LaCroix associates his lost love with white roses—white, presumably to symbolize the purity to which he was attracted, which Nick persuaded him she would lose if he brought her across. Obviously, therefore, a white rose is the most appropriate symbol for the faction. Rather than have one or the other of them holding the rose, though, I decided to find a large, attractive specimen to use as the background for the icon.

The screen capture I selected has curious lighting, partly a deep lavender blue and partly pink. Out of context, this could look very odd. However, I decided that this could be turned to advantage if I picked out mauve tones to use for the name of the faction, and as a narrow border around the edge of the icon.

Celtic GlowWorms:

The Celtic GlowWorms were founded by Forever Knight fans of Celtic background. However, although their original website (now available only from the Wayback Machine, and in pretty poor shape at that) was fairly straightforward, they evolved their own mythology in association with the Tequila Fiends, with whom they shared a pub called the Fiendish Glow. (For details, if anyone is curious, I suggest looking at the pub's website, which is lots of fun.)

Given the tongue in cheek quality that the faction evolved, I decided that it deserved a suitably irreverent icon. The Celtic nature is preserved in the border, which is created from interlace motifs that I got from Aon Celtic Art. However, rather than fill the centre of the icon with additional Celtic motifs, such as dragons or shamrocks or leeks, I hunted for a bit of free cartoon clipart that would serve as a glow worm.
