When I first saw the heavily saturated variants I was rather taken aback. The blue version (with pinkish feathering) and the red version (with green feathering) both looked okay; but some of the others were another matter. That yellow one with magenta feathering! It looked a right dog's dinner.
But then I started working with them. It's marvellous what one can do with Microsoft Picture Manager's coloured filters, especially when combined with alterations in saturation and contrast. It didn't take long for me to realize that the gaudy ones could be seen as new raw material. To mix metaphors, they needed to be "tamed".
